Mac Context Master: Introducing Fluent 1.4

Global browser & app context, tons of improvements, unprecedented performance. Welcome to the future of AI on Mac.

Mac Context Master: Introducing Fluent 1.4

The Big Picture

We’re excited to introduce Fluent 1.4—our biggest update yet! This release completely changes the way you use AI on your Mac, giving it full awareness of everything happening across your apps and browsers.

No more copying and pasting between apps. No more context switching. With this release, Fluent can follow along with whatever you’re doing—whether you’re researching in your browser, editing documents, sending emails, or creating presentations.

So what’s new?

Browser Context

Fluent now works smoothly with Safari, Chrome, Arc, Brave, Edge, Opera, and Vivaldi. No matter which browser you like to use, Fluent gets what pages you're on, what you're reading, and can help you pull together information from different tabs and windows.

App Context

On top of browser integration, Fluent now supports your favorite Mac applications context. For example:

  • Mail apps (Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird)
  • Productivity apps (Pages, Numbers, Keynote)
  • Creative tools (Photos, Preview, TextEdit)
  • Messengers (Messages, WhatsApp, Viber, Teams)
  • Media applications (Music, Podcasts, Books)
  • Utilities (Finder, Calendar, Contacts, Weather, Maps)

Now with Apple Intelligence

Fluent 1.4 – Smart Panel and Apple Intelligence

Out of a sudden, Apple Intelligence landed in Fluent 1.4. Although being a tiny model (3B parameters) with a small context window (4096 tokens), it's still pretty capable of understanding simple tasks and working with a limited context. We're excited to see which use cases you will find it suitable for.

Now outside of the Mac App Store

Fluent 1.4 is the first standalone version, and the most powerful yet. It has been decided to rename the App Store version to Fluent Lite – this one will have limited functionality and only quarterly upgrades. However, the standalone version will be the most powerful and actively updated.

The reason there are two versions is simple – the App Store sandbox is very restrictive. It would simply not be possible to implement features like app or browser context. And it absolutely blocks us from developing something special in the future.

On the other hand, we decided to leave a less powerful, but cheaper, version in the App Store, because for some people it might still make sense.

For those who purchased Fluent in the App Store before November 1, 2025 – great news! Just send us your Apple Email purchase receipt to [email protected], and we will send you a 100% discount code for the standalone version, Standard license (2 Macs).

Context Use Cases

For Content Creators

Fluent in Action – LinkedIn Post Creation using Five Tabs Content

Imagine researching digital marketing trends reports for 2026 in Safari and locally on your Mac, while writing a social media post in LinkedIn. Fluent can help you synthesize information from Safari tabs and locally stored documents, helping you to stay focused on your main task – writing an engaging post. Without ever switching apps and manually collecting content for AI.

For Business Professionals

Drafting an email in Apple Mail while referencing a Numbers spreadsheet? Fluent can quickly pull all the relevant data, follow professional language, and ensure your communication is backed by accurate information.

For Students and Researchers

Working on a Keynote/PowerPoint presentation while browsing materials for it? Fluent can help you analyze and gather the information, create compelling narratives, and ensure your sources are properly referenced.

For Software Developers

Fluent in Action – Rewriting Kuberneted Deployment

Whether it's iTerm, Visual Studio Code or any other coding app – use Fluent as a lightweight agent for quick tasks. Just spin up Fluent's Smart Panel and finally find out how to quit that Vim.

🔥 Hot Tip: Use custom actions to create templates for urgent on-fire calls. For example, you have an outage, spin up Fluent right in your terminal with a specific action called something like "WE ARE DOWN: Describe status" and get immediate status shareable with your product owners.

Getting Started

Fluent 1.4 is available as a free update for all existing users. New users can download the app and experience the future of AI assistance on Mac.
